Well, I managed to get myself some tanking gear, and that marvelous achievement deserves a post here!
Heavy Clefthoof Boots, Heavy Clefthoof Leggings and Heavy Clefthoof Vest will now do the trick for me. All of them I’ve given a Heavy Knothide Armor Kit, which as you clearly can see adds +10 stamina to them. Now I just need to find myself some gems for it and of course get better gear for all the rest of Yyduk, then I might be able to go in heroics… Hehe, I post this because? I need to post something!

Well, I thought that here in the middle of my absence and all, I would just make a little mandatory post about the draw for the World Cup Qualifying rounds, which were drawn this Sunday. Even though we just have to accept that the Danish national team are doing horribly at the moment, which the illustration should show perfectly. I’m not going into a discussion on why we’re not achieving what we think we’re capable of, nor am I going into the discussion of how rubbish the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings are…
That said however, I feel that I need to ask for some realism. Not only in Denmark, but also in England, as I feel the problem with both of these nations not qualifying for the European Championships next summer, is mainly selfexplanatory. You can’t go around thinking you’re better than everybody else. You can’t go around commenting on how good you are in the media, when you’re not delivering on the pitch! Enough about that anyhow…
This post was supposed to be about the draw for the European World Cup Qualifiers and not supposed to be about Denmark being rubbish or people having to high expactations to their teams for that matter. So let’s start with showing the draw:
Group 1: Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Albania, Malta
Group 2: Greece, Israel, Switzerland, Moldova, Latvia, Luxembourg
Group 3: Czech Republic, Poland, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Slovenia, San Marino
Group 4: Germany, Russia, Finland, Wales, Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein
Group 5: Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Armenia, Estonia
Group 6: Croatia, England, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Andorra
Group 7: France, Romania, Serbia, Lithuania, Austria, Faroe Islands
Group 8: Italy, Bulgaria, Republic of Ireland, Cyprus, Georgia, Montenegro
Group 9: The Netherlands, Scotland, Norway, FYR Macedonia, Iceland
From a Danish point of view, I must say that I’m very satisfied with the group. Not that I think we’ll go through, because I highly doubt that, but mainly because it could have been worse. It could have been better though! If Denmark and Switzerland had swapped places in Group 1 and Group 2, then I would be very optimistic for our chances. That, however, is just a small thought in my mind, as the reality has put us with Portugal, Sweden, Hungary, Albania and Malta. In my eyes Sweden is the best team in the group, with Portugal as favourites for the 2nd place. Hungary and Denmark will be fighting for the 3rd place, whereas Albania and Malta is simply in the group to try and steal points from the top 4 teams.
Well, there you go. A short notice about the draw and my thoughts on the Danish chances. Have fun and behave!

At the moment this blog is not being updated. I will do my best to get it back to scratch and get it running again, as soon as I’ve settled into my new job.
Thanks for your patience and cooporation so far and remember that I’m still looking for columnists to write about their Danish team (in English ofc).
I will also try to work on posting a little more on World of Warcraft, so I’ve added the Powered by Thottbot feature. This means that we’ll be able to do direct links to thottbot.com, like this:
The Lion Horn of Stormwind or Warmaul of Infused Light or even Devastation.
With this feature drops will be easier to show off and gear as well (as it does happen that the Armory is down)…
Anyhow, thanks for your patience and cooporation…

Well I’ve been searching the internet again and again to find out if I could find any evidence that the creators of ‘The Simpsons Game’, at some point had said they weren’t going to release the game for the PC. The first place I looked of course was at EA’s official homepage for the game and in the top here it lists the following platforms: Xbox 360™, PLAYSTATION® 3, Wii™, PSP ® (Playstation Portable), Nintendo DS™ and PLAYSTATION® 2.
Is it just me or do everybody fail to see the PC up amongst all the other major platforms on the market at the moment. Are they actually releasing it on PS2, Nintendo DS and PSP, all three platforms which can’t perform anywhere near what a PC can, but all us with a console (Okay, I do have a PSone, but for that there is no releases of games anymore) are going to be cheated by EA Games for this?
I’m a Simpsons maniac, simple as that. I’ve seen all episodes (then again who hasn’t?) at least 10 times each, I’ve had most of the Simpsons games avalible for me, but apparently I’m not going to be able to have this one… At EA’s official homepage there is a forum, with the thread: The Simpsons Game on PC1 and I’m going to quote a few of the people there, in my further outrage of how we can be left out (again, it seems that EA is starting to move away completely, from creating games (of quality anyhow) for the PC. If you look at the EA Sports games Madden NFL 2008, FIFA 2008 and NHL 2008, there is so many features stripped from the PC versions, compared with the next generation console versions.).
Gameplay.com had the game for preorder on the PC, so did Game.co.uk, where the latter has added the: ‘Product temporarily removed from sale.’, which might mean that it’ll be out later. Anyhow, a few quotes from the official forum:
jedted (C&C) – This is a complete utter outrage!!!! With the Xbox Live achivements being added to Games for Windows how can they not release a PC version of the game?! I was so psyched when i saw all the demos for this game but then i was pissed to find out it’s on practically every platform EXCEPT PC! EA must really despise PC gamers if they refuse to release a port of this game.
This is the Simpsons for cryin out loud! If they think people won’t buy this game for PC then they must be really stubborn or really stupid!
sting29kid (EA.com) – I agree with you. I play alot of games on the PC. They should make it for PC and MAC.
This thread is moved to the “feedback” area so they will look at it and hopefully consider the requests for PC/MAC version.
This is just two of the posts on the forum, which contains a lot of other great things, if you should be interested in the game that is of course.
You can read more about the game, if you should actually be the proud owner of one of the consoles that actually play it, at Gamespot.com. The link is for the Xbox360 review.

With the new 2.3.0 patch imminent, I think we better take a look at the patch notes:
Confirmed Patch 2.3.0 Changes:
General
* Zul’Aman, a 10-person raid instance located in Ghostlands will be introduced.
* New Honor Badge rewards will be introduced.
* Zul’Aman and Karazhan boss encounters will drop Honor badges.
* Guild Banks will be introduced.
* Quest reward experience will be increased, while experience required per-level 20-60 will be decreased.
* Spell effects labeled “Increases Healing by x” will now increase spell damage by around 33% of that value as well.
* New relics will be added to Heroic badge and Arena vendors that offer bonuses for all talent builds.
* A new title, “Champion of the Naaru,” will be added for players who complete the quest chain involving the old Tempest Keep Raid attunement. This title will be obtainable at a maximum of level 70.
PvP
* Season 3 Weapons will require a rating of 1850 to purchase, while shoulder slot items will require 2000.
* A new “Personal Rating System” will be added to prevent “selling” Arena teams.
o To restrict this we’re implementing a personal rating system in patch 2.3. This is an additional arena rating that is unique to each character for each team they belong to. This rating rises and declines using the same formula as the arena team rating, but only in games that character participates in.
o You’ll also be able to track this rating through the PvP interface. The personal rating will be used for purchasing items that require a specific rating, and also be used to determine eligibility for the end of season rewards. So, a player will have to achieve a specific rating, and not just get into a team to see the rewards that are meant to visually distinguish the high-rated players.
* New battleground rewards will be added for the boots, belt, and bracer slot.
* Arena-like buff periods will be introduced into Battlegrounds before the game starts and just after being resurrected.
Druid
* Tranquility will receive additional benefit from spell damage and healing.
* Cure Poison and Abolish Poison can be cast in Tree of Life form.
* Remove Curse can be cast in Moonkin form.
* Intensity will be improved to 10%/20%/30% respectively.
* Rebirth’s cooldown is being decreased from 30 minutes to 20.
Hunter
* Serpent Sting, Immolation Trap and Explosive Trap gain additional damage based on ranged attack power.
* Wyvern Sting will be instant cast.
* Arcane Shot(ranks 6+) will dispel 1 magic effect in addition to the normal damage.
Mage
* Arcane Meditation will be increased to 10/20/30%.
* Ice Barrier will receive additional benefit from +spell and +frost damage.
* Ice Barrier Ranks 5 and 6 base absorb reduced to compensate.
* Evocation will be changed to restore 15% mana every 2 seconds for 8 seconds.
* The penalty which reduces spell damage coefficient when having the talents “Improved Fireball” or “Improved Frostbolt” will be removed.
Paladin
* Seal of the Crusader now has the benefits of “Improved Seal of the Crusader” innately.
* Improved Seal of the Crusader redesigned: Now increased critical strike chance against target by 3% for all players attacking target.
* Sanctified Crusader replaced with Sanctified Seals: Increases critical strike chance with melee and spells by 1/2/3% and reduces the chance Seals can be dispelled by 33/66/100%.
* Reduced mana cost on Exorcism, Holy Wrath and Hammer of Wrath.
* Vengeance will now last 30 seconds.
* Crusader Strike cooldown reduced to 6 seconds.
Priest
* Fear Ward will be granted to all priests at level 20; cooldown increased to 3 minutes, duration reduced to 3 minutes.
* To give the dwarves and draenei something else to even it out, they’ll see a new ability called Chastise (also given at level 20) which will cause holy damage and incapacitate the target for 2 seconds.
* Meditation increased to 10/20/30% respectively.
* Pain Suppression redesigned: Now castable on other friendly targets; Reduces target’s threat by 5% and the damage they take by 40%. Cooldown reduced to 2 minutes.
* Power Word: Shield: Receives additional benefit from spell damage and healing. Base absorb values for ranks 10, 11 and 12 reduced to compensate.
* Prayer of Healing, Circle of Healing and Holy Nova (healing effect) receive additional benefit from damage and healing bonuses. Circle of Healing base heal value reduced to compensate.
Rogue
* Blind changed: No longer requires a reagent; shares diminishing returns with Cyclone; now considered a physical ranged attack; no longer considered a Poison effect.
* Deadly Throw will travel to target faster and duration increased by 1 second.
* Ruthlessness: Deadly Throw will no longer trigger this talent. Only melee finishers will now trigger it.
* Shadowstep can now be used outside of stealth and reduces the threat of the next Ambush, Backstab or Garrote by 50%. Cooldown increased to 40 seconds.
* Dirty Deeds now also increases damage of special attacks by 10/20% against targets below 35% health.
* Fleet Footed now increases movement speed by 15%, up from 8%.
* Healing reduction effects will now affect drain spells and abilities such as drain life.
Shaman
* Shamanistic Rage reduces all damage taken by 30% for the effect’s duration (30 seconds) in addition to the current effect.
* Spirit Weapons threat reduction increased to 30% from 15%.
* 2-handed Axe and Mace talent moved to a core ability; both skills trainable by all Shaman.

Yep, today the draw for the Quater Finals in the Danish Cup, or Landspokalturneringen to use the correct name, took place. This gives the following clashes, which will be played on sunday the 9th of march 2008 (The text is translated from dbu.dk.):
 Næstved – FC København
Næstved has managed to get through to the quaterfinals 12 times, latest in 2001/02 and 2002/03, where FC København (1-5) and AaB (1-4) ended their runs.
In 1994 the club took part in their only cup final, so far, which they lost 1-3 to Brøndby IF after extra time and penalties.
Næstved is actually the only home team who managed to score in the 4th round, when the bagged 4 goals against Kolding FC’s 2 goals.
FC København had no problems winning 4-0 away against Varde and this means the club is in the quater finals for the 7th season in a row.
FC København has been in the final 6 times within the last 13 season, with 3 trophies and 3 defeats, latest they lost against OB in may.
 Brøndby IF – Randers FC
Brøndby, who have gathered 5 cup titles in 7 attempts since 1988, has the chance to reach their 8th final after their 1-0 extra time win against the defending cup winners OB.
Brøndby have the cup statistics behind them after their win against OB. 3 times have these two teams met in the 4th round, in 1993/94, 2001/02 and 2002/03 and the winner of this match as gone on to win the entire tournament: Brøndby in 1994 and 2003, OB in 2002.
Randers FC, who won 2-0 after extra time away against SønderjyskE, haven’t let in any goals so far in the tournament (currently a 0-6 goalscore). Before changing name to Randers FC, Randers Freja has lifted the trophy 3 times, in 1967, 1968 and 1973. As Randers FC they won the trophy in 2006.
 Skive – Esbjerg fB
Skive, who is the currently lastplaced in the the 1. Division, won their the 4th round match 2-0 away against Grave, who is amongst the promotion contenders in the third best league.
Only once has Skive been in the quater finals, where they in the 2003/2004 tournament got knocked out with a 2-0 defeat to FC København.
Esbjerg fB has only managed to get past the quater finals twice in the past 17 years. In 2005/06 Esbjerg lost the final against Randers FC, while the semi final was where they got knocked out in 2001/02 against FC København, who won 1-0 on aggregate.
Esbjerg has participated in 7 finals since 1957, but only won the finals against Odense KFUM in 1964 and Holbæk in 1976.
 Vejle Boldklub – FC Midtjylland:
Vejle Boldklub took part in a cup drama, where both extra time and penalties were need to decide the winner, against the SAS Liga team AaB. This was only the second time Vejle managed to beat a higher ranked team in the cup, the first time was in the 3rd round against FC Nordsjælland.
It’s the first time in 17 years and the 23rd time that Vejle has made it all the way to the quater finals. Last time were in the 1990/91 season, where they only barely lost 1-0 against Brøndby IF.
Vejle has won 6 cup trophies in only 7 finals, since their first 3-2 win against KB in 1958.
FC Midtjylland won one of the two 4th round matches between to SAS Liga teams, with 1-0 away against AGF, who are the proud owners of the record for most cup trophies, with 9 wins in 11 finals, since the first cup was played in 1955.
FC Midtjylland, however, still haven’t managed to win a cup final, even though they’ve been in the finals in both 2003 and 2005.

This afternoon we played a league match at home against Randers FC. With the players we have at hand, it shouldn’t be the hardest team to beat, even though they do have the second best defense in the league, only after ours. Normal captain Michael Gravgaard was out injured and so was Jesper Grønkjær. This meant that Marcus Allbäck would take the captaincy and that Michael Antonsson would start in the defense.
It look good from the start, but as it has been for most of the time this season, we fail to convert our complete supremacy in play into chances and goals. One of the main factors for this, in my eyes of course, is that there are no players with the courage to take shots more than 10 meters from goal, apart from Sionko that is. The thing is, that the players, apparently, have been told that the important thing in this simple game, is not to score goals, but to have most possession and occasionally dribble the ball all the way in goal.
Why is it that we have a player on the bench, who we have paid nothing less than DKK 22 million to get to Copenhagen? Morten Nordstrand and Marcus Allbäck are good players, I can agree to that, but when the two attackers for the best team in Denmark only manage to score 5 goals in the last 9 league games it would be nothing less than fair towards poor Ailton to give him a chance to show his worth.
Is it fair, however, for me to critise the players? Because when it comes to all, in all other clubs in Europe anyhow, it all falls back on one person. The manager! Clubs have fired their managers, even though they’ve gotten championships, due to the style of play being horrible. Real Madrid did it to Fabio Capello and brought in Bernd Schuster, who in Getafe had shown great offensive qualities. The reason I bring on the Real Madrid aspect to this is, that we’re playing bad, really bad, but we still get the results, if we overlook todays loss. Scraping home sad 1-0 wins however, is not what fans and pundits want from the best team Denmark has ever seen. We are playing like a team who are fighting to avoid relegation, not like a team who are major favorites for the championship.
Over the past 7 years, we’ve been strengthening the defensive aspects of our game, with great success. From Roy Hodgeson to Hans Backe over Ståle Solbakken the concept has been clear. The best offense is a good defense! That sentence has brought us major glory, 5 Danish Championships, 2 Super Cup trophies, 2 Royal League trophies and one cup win! In only 7 years, nobody can disagree that this is a fantastic feature. Adding to this, our fantastic Champions League adventure last season and the fact that we’re in the group stages of the UEFA Cup this season, we can hardly be too disgruntled with how things are going in our glorius captial.
I’m all for us having European success, after Danish standards, but I’m not willing to sacrifice the good perfomances at home for that. I can see through fingers with us only being able to defend in Europe and then capitalise on our counter attacks, but I can’t see why, we due to this, play so bad in the league. Getting back to the subject though, it all falls back to our manager Ståle Solbakken. It seems he doesn’t have the courage to change the concept, even though he do claim to FCK.dk he changed to a 3 man defence at the break, when he first did it after 75 minutes when he swapped Antonsson for Ailton.
I wont take the crap excuses people are throwing arround about a ‘tight schedule’ since we play fewer matches than the big leagues in Spain, England, Germany, France, Italy etc. etc. We even have a 3 month winter break! Only broken by a silly training tournament called ‘Royal League’, this is a thing they don’t have in other countries and this forces some matches to be close, sure, but that’s not a valid excuse. In general a Danish team has the following matches:
33 league matches, 6 matches (if you reach the final) in the cup, 1 super cup match (if you win the championship or cup) and in average 4-6 matches in Europe. This totals 44-46 matches for the club, which is not that much, considering an English team play 38 leage matches, 7 FA Cup matches (if you reach the final), 6 League Cup matches (if you reach the final), 1 Charity Shield final (if you win either FA Cup or the League) and anything from 6 to 14 european matches. This totals 58-66 matches! A whooping difference between 12 and 20 matches!
And we complain? Admitted their squads might be bigger, but still. Don’t complain about a ‘tight schedule’, but fight for the federation to make it compulsory to have undersoil heating, so we can join the rest of europe in playing through december-feburary!
It’s time Ståle shows his true colours and put some action behind the words he said when he was hired. He said he wanted us to keep our good defense and then combine it with ‘Arsenal’ish’ attacking play. This has been showcased in 1 match against Benfica, where we couldn’t score. Show us attacking football Ståle or leave!
