Well, it’s now the 2nd of January and finally the booze is about out of the system. This means that it’s time to reflect on how New Years eve went on this year and as it’s been said: ‘A picture says more than 1000 words!’. Not that I can keep the words from being written here, but at least I’ll try to make it short. Here you get all the pictures, no censorship, no editing (apart from making the pictures 25% smaller, for easier uploading and renaming the files) and NO RED EYE REDUCTION, as I can’t be arsed to run 85 pictures through the editor. Maybe one day or if you should want it, you can get the picture edited from red eye etc. in full size, but only if you’re lucky!

Enjoy it the pictures, as usual just click the picture to start a ‘slide show’…:

Well, as 2007 goes towards it’s final hours, I just have to wish you all a Happy New Year! Hopefully you’ll have a great 2008 and still visit UnaX.dk for your nonsense needs!

Thanks for reading and hopefully we’ll be even better in the new year. If you’re lucky, and patient, you might even be so lucky to get pictures here on the homepage, from the fantastic new years party! If not, well, then you’ll have to imagine it all! Which I guess shouldn’t be too hard for all of you, as imagination is the food of, something something… Just had to fill out some more space…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The skin/theme of UnaX.dk has changed (I guess you’ve noticed!). This is mainly done as a salute, or tribute if you want, to Nintendo for giving us the little spaghetti loving plumber on a constant mission to save Princess Peach. This game has taken up hours and hours of my life, but as that wasn’t enough, it’s going to take up even more now. After I got my hands on a Nintendo Wii, I just have to get my hands on The Simpsons Game and Super Paper Mario to make me as happy as I get.

Not that I lack games to waste my time so far though, so I bring you:

Wii Sports (compulsory!)
Wii Play (compulsory!)
Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground
Spy Games Elevator Mission
Transformers – The Game
Medal of Honor – Heroes 2
Happy Feet
Lara Croft – Tomb Raider Anniversery
Need for Speed Carbon
Need for Speed ProStreet
Code Lyoko
Bionicle Heroes
Chicken Shoot
SmackDown vs. Raw 2008
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Rayman 2 – Raving Rabbids
Cars Mater-National Championship
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
NBA Live 08
Madden 08

Might not be the most interesting games, but heck, the Wii Sports alone makes up many hours of play! Apart from that, so far I’ve found Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games as fun, but it’s very hard to play, as it needs a very high level of activity… NBA Live 2008 is fun, mainly in the party games function, as you can play more at once. However with only 2 different minigames, it gets a tad tidious very fast.

That about sums up what games I’ve tried so far, as the ‘Christmas’ is a family heavy time. I’ll hopefulyl get to playing more of the games sooner than later…

Super Mario tribute ends: 1st of January 2008!

As the year is about to end, it’s time to elect which songs, movies, books, games, consoles, albums etc. has made it as UnaX.dk Best or UnaX.dk Worst! As I’m Danish (like you hadn’t guessed that already?!), most of the categories will be in both ‘Danish’ and ‘Foreign’, as I get to chose even more things then…

I guess it’s always hard to decide on which things have been the best or worst, but I’m pretty sure in my choices, so let’s just go ahead with the music part of my ‘awards’:

Danish:

UnaX.dk Best Danish Album: Suspekt – Prima Nocte – It’s nice to see the ‘kings of Danish hip hop’ back on the stage, with great dim lyrics, you just can’t stop to think about.

UnaX.dk Worst Danish Album: Tina Dickow – Count to Ten – This must be one of the most hyped, crap albums to ever be released. Tina Dickow should be shot out of a canon and forced to listen to her own crap on repeat for the rest of her life!

UnaX.dk Best Danish Single: Alphabeat – 10.000 Nights of Thunder – I’m not sure why, but this track is just so annoyingly catchy, that it’s hard not to like it. This recording is from Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen 22nd of June ’07.

UnaX.dk Worst Danish Single: Tina Dickow – On The Run – This is what you get when a song is played too much in the radio, on television and everywhere else. I don’t understand how Tina has made a career for herself and honestly I’d like to duct tape her mouth, so I would never have to hear this track again!

Foreign:

UnaX.dk Best Foreign Album: Radiohead – In Rainbows – This is, in my opinion, one of the best albums Radiohead has ever released, melodic as always and the gimmick of giving the album away for free or whatever you felt like paying (I actually bought it for £7.99!) was amazing. Even though comScore.com claim that Americans pay more (£3.94) then the British (£2.47), it’s still a great sale for them.

UnaX.dk Worst Foreign Album: Rihanna – Good Girl Gone Bad – This type of music just doesn’t cut it for me. It’s horrible crowd pleasing and the lyrics are plain dumb and pointless. I promise you already, that this wont be the only UnaX.dk Worst award Rihanna will win!

UnaX.dk Best Foreign Single: Nelly Furtado – All Good Things (Come to an End) – I must admit that I’m not normally a big fan of Nelly Furtado, but this track has a really pleasant sound to it. The fact that Nelly Furtado just looks amazing too, is always a plus…

UnaX.dk Worst Foreign Single: Rihanna – Umbrella (Feat. Jay-Z) – Again we have a track from the worst album, making the worst single too. Just as Tina Dickow, this is a ridiculous and overplayed track, which only has made one of the most played songs due to the fact, it featured Jay-Z. Listen to the lyrics for a moment: ‘You can stand under my Umbrella – (Ella ella eh eh eh) – Under my umbrella – etc. etc. etc…’ What is the point of this? I personally think that Rihanna should send all her love to Jay-Z that he has the star appeal to make this song remotely bearable for some!

Finally I’d like to make a ‘special’ award thingy, for the best concert I’ve seen this year (and as I’ve only been to one, it’s not hard, but the concert where more than excellent!). It goes to none other than: CocoRosie who absolutely took VEGA in Copenhagen with storm! That concert had everything to enjoy, apart from being a tad short in my opinion!

So enjoy this read for now, and more will come, before the year is over…

I guess now is the time to elaborate on a post I wrote in sheer anger this Thursday. The man on the picture is of course our manager, Ståle Solbakken, who I feel have intoxicated our (by our, I mean the fans of FC København) lives, with horrible play, with no fantasy, no technique and letting near 99% of the games be decided by pure chance and luck.

I can’t and won’t try to take away the fact, that Ståle has been our manager under the best season for the club, with our qualification to the Champions League last season, however I will point out that we were more than lucky, when Thomas Vermaelen decided to put the ball in his own net and secured a 2-0 win for us in Amsterdam.

Since Ståle took over, we have been playing my cynically, but with no game plan it seems. We have many very capable players, with great speed and technique, but they’re not being used to their full potential, when we play ‘Norwegian kick and rush football, copyright by Egil ‘Drillo’ Olsen’. Ailton Almeida, Morten Nordstrand, Atiba Hutchinson, Jesper Grønkjær and Libor Sionko are all great ‘ballplayers’, not ‘ball movers’ like Hjalte Bo Nørregaard and Rasmus Würtz, who are better at breaking up the opposition play. However these players are still forced to play a system, where our low defenders are played with high, long balls from the defence.

Since this season started I’ve been less inclined to go watch the boys play in PARKEN, due to play being designed to bore me to death, rather than entertain me. The thing is, that whenever we go 1-0 ahead, be it against Lyngby, AaB or Horsens, we try to defend the lead, instead of increasing it. This has, more often than you’d think, costed the victory in the end. Some of the Ståle supporters will claim that all this isn’t true, that we get plenty of chances, but just aren’t efficient enough. I guess they’re right, if they will live with FC København being a mediocre team, playing boring football, with no prospect.

The main issue, if we look beyond the horrendous play, with Ståles abilities as a manager, is that none of the players seem to develop after changing to FC Købehavn. To be fair William Kvist has developed a little, or should we say adapted to the right back position. Brede Hangeland has developed enough to be in the spotlight for Premier League clubs, but I’m pretty sure he would be even with a certain Guy Davies as manager!

All in all, I don’t feel that Ståle are the right man to lead the ‘troops’ any more. The little respect I had left disappeared completely when Aberdeen got 4-0 ahead. So the reign of Ståle must end! Give an attacking approach to football and while you’re at it, get some new grass for PARKEN!

Yet again the site has been down, this time only for 15 minutes time, as the Mandigo theme was updated from 1.28 to 1.29. Tom, the creator of Mandigo, has released the following patch notes:

1.29

+ language: Croatian (hr)
+ language: Japanese UTF-8 (ja)
+ added an option to display trackbacks after the comments
+ added header/footer files for the WPG2 plugin
+ automatically load favicon.ico if it exists in the theme directory
* text shadow & stroke are now applied on the fly: this is better for SEO as it removes some duplicated content
* sidebars now appear after the content in the HTML code (better SEO)
* fixed the scheme detection function for sites on which glob() is restricted
* fixed a PHP error that occured with older versions of WP (2.1* and earlier)

This should definantly make it even easier for us to keep the kinks away. With this ‘short’ notice, I’ll wish you all a great day and warn you against the next post, which is not far away!
